It's a story about Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, who met by fate and became best buddies, together with Ling Qiao, a very pretty and kind woman They are tasked with mission: to go into the past, find lost people, solve mysteries by using clues, all while sticking to one rule, to never change the past. In each and every case, Cheng is reminded of that, and he starts to doubt his actions, as he isn't able to save people involved in the cases unless he changes the important moments in his time travels, which would be against their rule, and make future unpredictable. There are a lot of plot twists which actually contributed to the emotional narrative of the show, with huge influence on the characters involved. Each episode ends on a cliffhanger, which made it very easy to binge while making me impatient about finding out what happens next, however it felt good when seeing them kick their asses and hearing the show's ED.

Captain Xiao is a very well written character imo, he was a great guy, and helped the protags a lot. Although powerless, he is very important for the plot, he hides and keeps the protags in safety while having them check all possible photos to look into the past and get all info that's in their reach.
The girl, Li Tianxi, she was so kind and she only wanted to go home, after she was taken by Jin, the bad guy which I hate a lot, for killing her and making me literally cry in season 2. She was innocent, he used her and his brother’s powers to kill people at command, he is one of the most evil antagonists, that is, for killing women, and especially someone so weak and fragile like that poor girl. I didn't really like her brother, which I think he could do more for her, he shouldn't have sided with Jin at all, as it was pretty obvious they are used by that psycho. Another character I hate with all my soul is Ma Xiao, the guy who hurt everyone for his boss, and killed Chen after the brother and sister ran away and gave up on the task. He also almost killed Wang, fortunately he got what he deserved, but it was still funny to see his boss being shot by him, although he was wearing vest, his boss was a coward.
The 3 “Power Rangers” guys who saved the protags in that building got me laughing with joy, it was very enjoyable to watch them kick ass as that child’s heroes from his show.
Lu Guang is an amazing guy, he is very wise and predicts the enemy most times, but he can seem rather cold when telling Cheng to stick to the rule, not change the past, which sometimes meant letting some people die to avoid an unknown future. He is interesting, he is always there for his partner in their missions, and at the end he risked his life for the sake of the mission, to stop Jin and save everyone.
Ling Qiao is my second favourite character, she appears to be a very simple woman, but she's very kind, and really strong, fact proven when she slapped the antagonist real hard in an earlier episode, and when she caught up to Tianchen, to stop him from kidnapping Xiaoshi. She has a great heart, she gave Cheng hope to save his partner, to go back in the past even if it meant repeating certain actions, to keep trying and do what he does best, which she admires him a lot for.
Speaking of Ling, when she was possessed, that twist sent chills down my spine, I loved it."Didn't I tell you not to lie?!".
The artstyle of this show is rather good, the music is on point, I got a very good impression as a first donghua in my list. I can totally recommend this to anyone who's looking for good drama thrillers with male protagonist.
Similar show I watched and loved is summertime rendering. I NEED more shows about time travelling or mystery thrillers like these!
Score: 10/10.
