[202 Accepted]Story This anime takes place in a town called Kowloon Walled City. Real estate agents Reiko Kujirai and Hajime Kudou help civilians with house searching. They both have feelings for each other, but these feelings end up opening a multitude of mysteries that unravel the truth behind their town.

Characters Reiko Kujirai is a friendly and somewhat clumsy woman. She smokes a lot with Hajime and clearly has a crush on him. Hajime Kudou is also a friendly guy, but he initially acts a bit cold towards Reiko. He’s quite knowledgeable about Kowloon and its scenery as well.

The Good This was an absolutely well-told story. The mysteries were abundant and the unexpected twists always kept me guessing and theorizing for answers. Even though the title has the word “Generic”, this anime was everything but generic (although generic does end up referring to something else in the story lol). I also appreciate that the two main lovers of the story aren’t your casual young teens. Having more mature adults for the cast made this stand out more to me from other romances that usually focus on a teen couple. I was also a major fan of the OP. I was jamming and vibing to the song as it fit the aesthetic that the anime sets.

The Bad Speaking of romance, I wish they’d focus a bit more on that. I’m not complaining about the mystery. I enjoyed that. However, as the anime progressed, I felt that the show slowly decided to focus more on Reiko’s situation as well as the supporting cast more than Hajime, who’s supposed to be Reiko’s lover. Obviously, he still plays a major role, but it does take a bit for his major role to be revealed and while that takes time to be revealed, he doesn’t do much to progress the story.

Is It Worth The Watch? If you like a bit of mystery into your not so normal romance anime, this is worth the watch. This show was pretty unpredictable for me, and that always kept me hooked onto this show.
