This show is not recommended because it serves as some kind of a prologue to what seems will be a much longer story, had they also adapted the rest of the story it might be decent, but I don't like watching an anime just as a teaser for the manga.
It's one of those protagonist solves side quests kind of show, where you get introduced to new characters and a new problem to solve each episode, a decent one at that certainly. The gimmick here is the relationship between Sakurako the actual detective, who is a hot young adult woman and Shoutarou the POV male character, a male high school student. Sometimes instead of focusing on the case, Shoutarou is paying attention to Sakurako's belly button or butt. It's not really my thing and there's not many fan service scenes at all so you probably don't wanna watch it for that reason either.
Sakurako is a cool character, but again we don't learn much about her before the show is over. She is supposed to be an expert on skeletal remains but really she's an expert on everything from gem stone identification to psychology, anything that would help solve the case. I'm not saying this as a big negative, the MC being super knowledgeable is a thing in these side quest shows, the most famous of which right now is Apothecary Diaries. I guess there's just not quite enough going on other than solving cases to distract you from this issue of, "wait a minute, why would you know so much about commercial artificial diamonds?".
The side quests themselves are also decent, and they usually revolve around some message about the value of life which I can get behind. This message is also echoed in the overall theme of the show about skeletons, that the bones support the life and movement of the animal in life, and it stays behind in death. Just like the will and deeds of a living person fuel them in life, and are remembered after death.
As for Shoutarou the POV character, he really is just a POV character with no back story and not much agency either, all he does is follow other characters around so we can learn the story. Plus he's clearly attracted to Sakurako despite being 5~10 years junior. I was curious to see what they'll do with this relationship but they do nothing with it basically. They're pretty close at the start, they get a bit closer at the end but that's it, they're still just normal friends.

There is clearly supposed to be a main plot about this super baddie involved in all of the cases but guess what they rather spend the last episode on yet another side quest flash back, and we end up knowing nothing about this big baddie and the show is over.
