Story ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ The story follows Yoshiki and Hikaru, two best friends who grew up together in a small village. Their lives are turned upside down when, one day, Hikaru returns from the mountains as something else. An unknown entity has taken over his body, and now Yoshiki has to figure out what happened to his friend while dealing with this strange new reality.The story is good. As a mystery, you never have all the cards on the table, which keeps you guessing. I remember after every episode, I was like a crazy person with paint open, drawing up theories of what was happening. Even with all the mystery, the main character is always looking for answers, so you stay in the front row trying to solve everything with him, which is very enticing.Another thing to point out is that the story has a lot of depth. Specific characters have intricate stories that aim to make you understand how they feel. A downside of this is that the pacing can be slow at times, but it's nothing too extreme in my opinion and only adds to the series.

Art ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ The art is incredible, be it the backgrounds, character designs, or even the supernatural elements. Every aspect of it is well done, and the animation and art feel like they came from a triple-A studio.
(This section is on the trailer, so I don't think it's a spoiler)I was amazed by the camera angles and color composition several times throughout the show. The visual presentation is without a doubt one of the best aspects of the entire anime.

Characters ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ There are a moderate amount of characters, including Hikaru, Yoshiki, their school friends, and people from their village. They're all well done, and every character serves a purpose, whether it's to provide comedy relief or to deepen one side of the narrative.
In terms of the main character, Yoshiki is complicated. In the beginning, I was somewhat frustrated with some of his actions, but with time and understanding more of his character, I became very interested in what he was going to do next. Overall, he is a good character.

Soundtrack ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ The soundtrack is good. Since it's a mystery anime, the more you're immersed in the story, the better. Good animation and art are needed, but sound is equally important. I felt emotional at times and tense at others, so I can safely say the soundtrack was well done.

Conclusion ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ If you're like me, you skip everything and read only the conclusion because you don't want to get spoiled with other themes. So I will try to be brief on this point:Watch it.If you're into mystery, drama, and the supernatural, this anime is a good pick. The story isn't resolved, and there's still more to come; I'm personally excited for the second season. I feel like this anime had everything well done: story, art, sounds, and mystery.
