Plot
Characters
- Yuu is extremely creepy, and I didn’t really like her overall character because of that. She got especially creepy in episodes 8-12, so if you plan to watch this, beware; her character is not likable.
- She doesn’t really have many redeeming qualities, and I find her quite annoying because she’s very obsessive, pushy, irresponsible, and dramatic. She’s definitely one of the more unlikeable MCs I’ve encountered, but if you can get past her, the anime is pretty good, especially for not really having a big plot. Overall, I’d give her personality a 2/10.
- Her character design is very basic. It’s blue throughout and honestly nothing special. It might even be worse than average. You can tell not much thought went into her character design, and it definitely could’ve been better; therefore, I’ll give her design a 3/10. Not the worst I’ve seen, but could’ve 100% been improved upon.
- Yuu is 100% my least favorite character in the anime.
- Koizumi is pretty cold, and she’s definitely a loner, but I honestly really liked her character. She tries to do her own thing and is extremely reasonable, which is exactly why I like her. She’s probably the 2nd most normal person in the series. I’ll give Koizumi’s personality a 5/10; she’s an overall pretty average character, nothing too special about her.
- I think Koizumi’s character design is pretty basic, but there seems to be some thought put into it. She’s described as very pretty, and you can tell. Her blonde hair represents ramen noodles, and her eyes seem to represent meat/ charsiu (???). She looks like the average schoolgirl overall, though. Taking all this into consideration, I’d give her design a 6.5/10.
Koizumi is probably my favorite character. Compared to Jun, it was pretty close (this will be elaborated on), but she is the main character and is the one who loves ramen, so she gets 1st.
- Jun is described to be a bit of a nerd, school-oriented, responsible, reasonable, and a bit insecure/ anxious. She also doesn’t have many major personality changes, but she’s off the bat 100% the most normal character in the series. She’s my favorite character because, as a teenager, she’s extremely relatable, and I just love how reasonable she is. I’d probably give her personality a 6.3/10. She’s nothing special, but I’ll give her some points for being the most normal, reasonable, and not annoying.
- Jun’s character design is pretty plain and again, is nothing special. Yuu and Misa don’t really have any complementary colors in their designs, but Jun at least does with her glasses. I don’t really like her haircut, but it’s not too bad. Green also isn’t my favorite color, but I do like her sweater. Overall, I’d give her character design a 3.5/10, slightly better than Yuu, because she’s still practically monotone, but at least she has the different colored purpley-pink glasses.
- Misa is described as pretty, popular, and non-school-oriented. She wants to be a model or idol and doesn’t know if she wants to continue schooling. She’s pretty annoying and 100% a tsundere. At some points, I found her insufferable, but she’s also pretty relatable. Because of this, she’s probably my 3rd favorite character in the series, so next to last above Yuu.
- Misa’s character design is just like Yuu’s and Jun’s, very plain. She’s got some interesting hair, but I’ve definitely seen similar hairstyles in other anime. She doesn’t have any complementary colors, but I do like the color pink. Overall, I’d give her character design a 3.3/10. I like it more than Yuu’s, but it’s still not good.
Character Development
- Jun becomes more okay with eating ramen and hot noodle soups again (sorta).
- Misa gets a boyfriend in one episode, and he breaks up with her.
