Let’s admit it: we’ve all had those childhood days where we ran around, tripped over, and collected bruises like badges of honor. Our parents would rush over with bandages and worry written all over their faces. Fortunately, most of us already grown out of that phase… except for Tsuyoshi Yano, the main guy of Fall 2025 Anime Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi (Yano-kun's Ordinary Days). You can call him a magnet for accidents, since he’s always bumping into, tripping over, or getting hit by something as he walks. To see him stay bruise-free for longer than a day is such a miracle, considering how klutzy he is.

Noticing how Yano shows up to school with new bruises almost every single day, Kiyoko Yoshida, the class president, can’t help but offer herself as his ‘wound caretaker’. She always has her pocket first-aid kit ready, so every time he gets hit or even bleeds, she’ll patch his bruises while being genuinely worried about him.

Through these small routines, she started to like him before she even realized it. The issue is, Yano had no idea what it feels like to have romantic feelings for someone. At least that was the case until a love rival taught him.
Uhh… a love rival?
Yep, you read it right. Enter Yuudai Hashiba, the vice class president who also has eyes only on our heroine. He even confessed to her, but we all know how it would end. His reactions? Rather than being a third wheel (or what Anna Yanami from Makeine refers to as ‘homewrecker’), he tried to see what Yoshida saw in Yano by befriending him. It’s nice to see a love rivalry where the other party isn't just straight up an antagonist. No scheming, no inner thoughts that are out of left field, just someone who handles rejection quite maturely and even roots for our main couple.

Hashiba isn’t the only one on Yano-Yoshida’s side; the side characters are pretty supportive too. You have Mei Yuzukawa, Yoshida’s friend voiced by the same VA as Anya, Izumi the popular girl whom I suspect is Hashiba’s childhood friend (probably, idk), and Haruto Tanaka, a clueless goof who just nods along to everything. They’re there like seasoning on food, bringing out extra flavor to the story without making things feel crowded.

When it comes to personal enjoyment, I find the art style pretty cute. It looks clean and soft despite using slightly muted color palette. The animation, voice-acting, and soundtrack all help bring out the show’s cozy atmosphere. Both OP and ED theme song are good, but I prefer the OP one “POP LIFE” by FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE. The ‘gets injured all the time’ shenanigan may feel repetitive for some people, but I think this show balanced it well with Yoshida’s dumbstruck face. It’s exaggerated at some point, but also gold. The same goes for the other’s reaction towards anything, and I like it!

That said, Yano-kun's Ordinary Days is a cute and wholesome romcom with no unnecessary drama holding it back. The characters are lovable, the romance is sweet, and the whole vibe is just great. This is one of few romcoms I watched this season, and you guys should give it a shot too.
