Gintama - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class review
Well, that was a nice ride. Seeing all the characters again was really enjoyable. Here are my thoughts about those 12 episodes:So what is Ginpachi's Zany class even about? Well, it's much like Gintama expect it focuses more on the comedy, and the story takes place in Gintama High School. With Gintoki being the teacher and other characters such as Kagura, Shinpachi, and the Shinsengumi being his students. Spoiler, click to view
In the first episode, we saw that Prince Hata is the principal, and he warned Gintoki that if his students don't succeed this year, he will lose 10% of his salary Overall themes: I think this spin-off really showed more of the comedy side of Gintama. The original series of Gintama did have some serious moments and episodes here and there. Here in Ginpachi's Zany Class, it focuses mainly on comedy. Breaking the fourth wall and referencing other shows (Mainly the Dragon Ball franchise) kinda reminds me of the funny parts from the original show. However
One thing I didn't like was that some episodes felt like a complication episode, with some episodes giving us random scenes. Episode 2, for example, had 3 different parts, with all of them, of course, having a lot of gags. Spoiler, click to view
The episode starts with the cast turning to children, and then to animals, and then to shounen jump characters. Then, after around 7 minutes, it switched to some characters on an exam, and some of them just saying "Kienzan," which is Krillin's attack from Dragon Ball, and at the end it switched to Gintoki advising his students in the way Tama did in the original series in one episode

______________
Is still a great spin-off, I like how they showed us some old characters who didn't get much screentime, such as Mone and Ane, Heiji and Haji, and some more. I especially like the fact that they also brought some of the villains and gave them their own roles. It made the show funnier and enjoyable. In conclusion
Is this as good as the original? No? Is this the anime of the year (2025)? No. But it is a fun watch, especially if you like Gintama. Absolutely. Gintama is my favorite anime, and I think many others will say it's in their top 5. This spin-off is good for what it is. It's funny, enjoyable, and fun.

Overall:I'd say it's great. I personally enjoyed it, and I hope others did as well or might in the future. I'm glad that the anime is back for a short 12-episode season. Even though it didn't have much plot like the main series, it was still a nice watch. It sure gave me nice vibes to watch it once a week, and I might rewatch it in the future too.
I think I will give it....
