Rascal Does not Dream of a Dreaming Girl is a movie that has honestly hit me more than season 1.
If u read my review on season 1 and see my profile picture I think u can see that I am a Mai Sakurajima simp.
So for me the specific scene where Mai becomes one with the pavement is not something I particularly enjoyed and I will always shed a tear when watching that scene.
Ok now to go to something different, probably the main star of the movie is Shoko Makinohara
<------------- This angelShe also brings a ton of depression into the movie and is my 2nd favorite character from the series.
Now from Season 1 I was constantly curious how Sakuta got that big ass scar on his chest and how it will be relevant in the future and oh boy was it relevant.
First of all the movie starts with a punch to the face as we learn that Shoko has a heart disease that wont let her grow up unless she gets a heart transplant. Shit had me flabbergasted alr and I wasnt even 10 mins into the movie.
After Sakuta found out that Shoko's puberty syndrome is to have 1 child form(the present) and 1 adult form(the imagined future) it was quite a shock but not as much bcs I alr kinda figured it out.
Im not gonna yap about the whole movie but after some stuff happen Sakuta and Shoko end up at a wedding chapel due to one of little Shoko's to do list entires and like Sakuta my attention directly went to the scar on her chest (its not like that I swear).
I was relived to find out that she got a heart transplant but then I fell face first onto the floor when she said that its Sakuta's heart.
So apparently if things go as planned Sakuta will get in a car crash on Christmas Eve but bcs he had an organ donor card on him then his heart would go to Shoko
<--------- my live reaction to that information
Now when Mai finds out about this she doesnt do much about it until she decides to take bro as far as possible from that place until Sakuta refuses to go any further and she breaks down (and so do i).
Now im not gonna go into it further bcs I alr yapped enough but the movie was fucking fantastic and really depressing.
Seeing Sakuta and Mai face so many challenges together even to the point of death but still manage to overcome it and not give up until they do was and still is inspiring to me.
(and after the movie the ED plays so my PTSD flairs up again) <--- joke lolMy closing thoughts on Shoko Makinohara:
Thanks fuck she is alive and well and please protect this little angel from all the bad 🙏
