JoJo's bizzare adventure diamond is unbreakble is truly a specila JoJo part due to a couple of reasons. The first one being is the fact that it comes after the death of DIO.The shadow of dio loomed all over the last three JoJo parts even when he was not present and when he was finally defeated one might ask, where does JoJos goes next? The answer to that is a simple one word 'Morioh".
At first the idea of abandoming the globe trotting adventure formula for a slice of life where almost all characters including villains make a frequent comeback seems like a bad call for the series but it ends up turn out to be Brilliant. The show begins with our previous protagonist, Jotoro Kujo coming to Morioh town, a small town on the Japanese coastline in the year 1999, to seach for Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar ,everyone's favorite trickster and the protagonist of battle tendency. From there He teams up with he teams up with the various wacky residents of Morioh town and we see that the town is in fact not as quite and quaint as we intially thought.Josuke is honestly the second best jojo protagonist for me, His more passionate nature complents Jotaro's more stoic personaitly really well. Koichi and Okayasu are also excellent side characters and Rohan is well, Rohan. The stands in this part are way more unique and used in more creative ways and many of them are even used for everyday life purpose. The stand battles are also refined in this part, becoming much more longer and complex and in some cases involving mulitpe stand users.Their designs are way more cooler and varied in this part as compared to stardust crusaders. The anime also has a really varied color schemes in the fact that many time the sky of Morioh appear pink, this gives the anime a unique appearance diffrent from all the clichéd blue sky in other series.Yoshikage Kira is also one of the best written anime villians, his unique justopostion of wanting to live in peace while commiting mass murder and his ability to escape capture at the last second made him seem like a threat on the same level as DIO in the last part. The second half of his arc is just creepy especially with how many people he put in danger and the fact that heroes go basically back to square one to catch him.The way he is defeated is also one of the best written anime battle of wits that we fome to expect from JoJo.
It is really fun to watch the entire JoJo series and slowly see Araki writing skill develop.Part 4 in this regard is where he finally perfects his craft getting rid of the rough edges around his earlier writing. It is really the perfect JoJo part and my personal favorite so far tho Steel Ball Run might offer some competition in the near future.
