Animation

The thing that stands out immediately is the animation. It’s genuinely gorgeous. The colors, lighting, especially in the digital world scenes. The fight scenes and performances especially go crazy, the staging of concerts and VR battles is super theatrical and expressive. It’s the kind of movie where you could pause almost any frame and it would look amazing.


# Music

The music is honestly one of the strongest parts of the movie for me. I already like music and idol-themed anime, so I went in with really high expectations, and the movie actually met them. The songs feel just so important to the story, and you can tell a lot of care went into it. They got a bunch of huge Vocaloid producers, having people like Ryo, kz, HoneyWorks, 40mP, Aqu3ra, and yuigot involved makes it feel like a love letter to Vocaloid itself. So as a Vocaloid fan myself,I got super excited hearing the covers, like when they played Happy Synthesizer, or the ray MV, which was amazing. When they sang World is Mine I genuinely lost it a little.

> Even if people are isolated or from different worlds, creativity and technology can bring them together.

That's what I felt while watching.

Characters

Iroha just stood out to me a lot. She’s dealing with so much, working, studying, living alone, basically carrying everything by herself, yet she still keeps going.


And she’s incredibly cute. Just look at her


At the beginning of the movie, she's so tired and overwhelmed, but she grows into someone who actually follows her creativity and emotions. Kaguya brought color into her life. Everything she does feels genuine, especially how she supports Kaguya.

Kaguya is basically the opposite of her, she's super energetic, dramatic, impulsive and that contrast made their interactions fun to watch. Their relationship was probably the best part of the movie for me. These characters are from different worlds, yet even though they’re separated by time or space, they still try to reach each other.The side characters really didn't do anything, but I just wanna say I really liked Nois even though he didn’t do that much lol.


His design is amazing and seeing him during the VR fight was just so COOL

I've seen reviews pointing out some of the flaws of this movie, but I loved it way too much while watching to even notice. I even teared up at one point. Cosmic Princess Peakuya. Please watch this movie.
