"Season 3 is an absolute masterpiece! I really enjoyed it from start to end.
The animation quality and the overall fidelity took a massive leap upward from Season 2. The time gap between the release of Season 2 and Season 3 was well worth it. The refined art style and realistic animations bumped up the immersion.
Story-wise, it was captivating! I was quite invested in the Reina and Kumiko conflict, which captured the anger, frustration and sadness between the both of them. I felt Kumiko's emotions when Reina told her that she fails at being a president for not being able to trust Taki's decisions.
Speaking of emotional scenes, the euphonium soloist end result was quite poignant. I don't cry much when it comes to upsetting scenes, no matter how impactful it is, so one tear or so is enough for me to say it's something I will remember when thinking about Hibike Euphonium. It contained the sad emotions of many, including Kumiko, Reina, Kanade and Kurae. The scene with Kumiko and Reina on top of the hike trail's cityscape scenery is the most sad out of all of them, I'd say.
As for the new characters that were introduced in this season, they are well written, but they are not as memorable compared to the characters from previous seasons. The only new characters that played a big role in Kumiko's life were Kuroe-san and Kanade-chan.
This season also brought me back to many reminiscent feelings. The naturally warm color tone and the right camera angles for the summer scenes reminded me a lot of what summer felt back when I was a kid. It captured the nostalgia and warmth, which made them more important and memorable for me.
Soundtrack wise, the last piece "Hitotose No Uta" orchestra sounded and felt powerful. I watched it with headphones on, and it's really uplifting. The flashbacks helped strengthen the emotions too. All the soundtracks are quite good, but Hitotose No Uta is probably my favourite.
Pacing is much improved in my opinion! It didn't drag on the unimportant things for too long and the right amount of time was focused on what mattered, which was the drama and winning the Nationals.
Finally, to conclude it all, I'm really happy that they decided to show what happens after the Nationals. Getting to see Kumiko all grown up and as an assistant advisor was a really good addition. I'm starting to think it genuinely is my favorite slice of life musical anime. It's also the first anime I truly poured all of my thoughts into words for, so it's an anime worth remembering!
I will miss Hibike Euphonium, once the finale movie airs and I finish watching it. 10/10 anime, best musical! It's the most reminiscent and immersive anime I have ever watched."
