What I liked was the aesthetic and the fact that theyre vampires. Could it get any better? The voice acting is good imo, the OST is good. The crimson roses crumbling in the opening, those shadowy mansion corners with chandelier glow catching fang glints—peak dark romance visuals that had me hooked. The violins shrieking over low organ hums amp up the dread perfectly, and the seiyuu bring that cocky edge or creepy whine without overacting. The opening's slow zoom on wilting roses dripping red under moonlight? Chills every time—textbook dark harem moodsetter that kept me watching despite everything. Solid vibes for a possessive harem setup, even if the rest fumbled.
But the constant harassment..like bro wtf? Yui gets pinned down, bitten, mocked every single episode. Yanderes kill and obsess over their love, but this was too repetitive and offers nothing else. 12 episodes of the same cycle: corner her, taunt, bite, gasp—over and over with barely a location swap. Only the last two episodes offer some variety with family drama crashing in, but by then exhaustion hit hard. It's like the showrunner copy-pasted the same 3-minute bite scene 12 times with minor outfit changes—jirai patience only goes so far before it feels like punishment. Even my broken Jirai heart got tired of the nonstop grind—no real tension build, no payoff, just abuse on loop. The male cast has fairly complex backstories and personalities peeking through, but they fade under all this harassment fog. Tragic potential totally wasted.
I felt sorry for Yui at the beginning, but after episode 3 I was like "bro u fr?". She could have escaped—doors unlocked after the tumble, no one guarding—but no, she stayed and prayed instead. I know resisting assault is hard as hell, freezing up or just surviving the moment is real, and I respect anyone stuck in that. Real talk though—I've been there mentally, that deer-in-headlights freeze is brutal. But watching her default to "pray and endure" every single time? Started feeling like a choice after a while. But she kinda just took it without even trying a push or scream for real distance, like the "endure kindly" martyr mode was on autopilot. Then she kills herself in front of the others as a final solution, where everyone was able to save her. Girl could have just offed herself in private, got the same result but would have died fr—not this public spectacle relying on plot armor.
Jirai curator claims: For my own little harem, I would take Subaru (he literaly gave Yui a knife and said "its for when I tell you to off me..thank you sir) or Reiji (he seemed like the calmest and somewhat "normal" one of them).
