I may want to say before starting this review that I actually knew nothing about this anime before finding by accident, while watching an anime amv.
Plot:
In a world very much like our own, great race horses of the past have a chance to be reborn as "Horse Girls." Girls with the ears and tails of horses as well as their speed and endurance. The best of these horse girls go to train at Tokyo's Tracen Academy, hopefully moving on to fame and fortune as both racers and idols.
Special Week, a high school horse girl from the countryside, has just transferred to Tracen, and she's determined to fulfill her promise to her mother to become the best horse girl in Japan. On her way to school, she takes a pit stop at the race track and instantly falls in love with Silence Suzuka's style, becoming determined to race on the same team as her.
Me figuring out something:
So, after I read the plot of the anime for the first time and noticed it said "great race horses of the past have a chance to be reborn" I thought that this might have been made up to sound cool or something.
Nope, I was wrong... Special Week was actually a horse!
I decided to see if the other characters from the anime were actual horses as well and I can easily say... yes to that
Click to have a better look at it... All of the characters are based on a real horse. I'm actually amazed! The Music:
The opening of the anime is called Make Debut. It's so cute and shows all of the characters in their own styles and their funny side. I love the animation like the shine, lights and the flames in the background of the opening. I also really enjoy the transitions between each scene. Especially the end of it in the cloud scene.
Ending music is called Grow Up Shine! This is also so cute and catchy if you listen to it too many times. I love how they show of the characters at the end of the episode. If your a sort of person that loves colors or color theory then you might love the ending, because of the amazing and bright colors that light up on the screen.
The Studio:
I didn't know the studio before watching this anime and I can easily say why I liked it so much. The Studio is P.A. Works. If your reading this and you have no idea what that studio is then here is a list of good animes that they have made over the years:
That was only a few but it is a huge studio that can do really good animes. Good thing Pretty Derby is probably the shortest anime from them so far, I think and a easy one to sit through.
Final Thought:
I could go on forever but I think some people might not be able to keep reading for much longer, if I typed more.
After I found this anime it only took me two and half days to finish it and I really do love the anime so mush, even though it wasn't in English Dub. I loved the music, sounds and animation. It's been a while since I found the right anime and I can easily say that I will be re-watching this a few more times.
Hopefully you guys didn't get bored while reading this... Please check this anime out for your own good!
