A unique take on an over-saturated genre, the show follows a wholesome MC that handles whatever situation with a smile, empathy and understanding.
The rules of the world may not always make sense and it isn't very fast-paced but rome wasn't build in a year! And neither will the Jura Federation! The show has a fun ensemble of creative and somewhat generic side characters that each shine in their own little country-to-be. The show even goes the extra mile and attempts to add in mild political aspects, that while not generally seen as fun, add a whole new perspective to an isekai world.
I've craved for the longest time a show that just tries to bring some logic into these isekai worlds and so this show, introducing us to all the various races, each with their own speciality and skills has turned the world into a charming version of another world. Our lovable slime does what he can, and I can't wait for the show to continue growing the city and following the challenges that await, and the creative way the show solves them.
The main downside for me was the iffy fanservice at some points and the confusing overall plot which seems to move at a very unpredictable pace but it still is interesting and funny.
ART: 9/10
Often times beautiful, sometimes basic. Generic character designs for humans but unique and interesting expressions for non-human characters. It's a shame the show is dead-set on changing everyone to look like humans.
PLOT: 7/10
_- WORLD BUILDING 9/10
The overall plot is there, the world building does exist and involves very unique issues that must be dealt with and most arcs are character-driven so the show lacks a strong central existing plot. That isn't necessarily bad but it can feel somewhat slow because of that. For some reason, the show has a weird narration dump every now and then which can feel almost like a spoiler for what's to come.
ENJOYMENT: 8/10
Without thinking too much, the show is just generally enjoyable. It's got an entirely new world, funny cast and it doesn't take itself seriously. There is no extreme melodrama and it doesn't attempt to fix any real-world issues or problems. I can understand why some might find it a bit preachy or maybe dislike the Slime's popularity but in the end, it's there for our entertainment and if you switch off your brain and try to enjoy the wholesome slime, all is good.
