I ended up really enjoying this show, CGDCT is my true weakness...
[PREMISE OF THE SHOW:]()
Machikado Mazoku centers on Yuuko (often referred as Shamiko), a normal High School Girl who happens to have her family be under "curse of a 40,000 yen (about US$365) per month living." One day Lilith, an ancestor of Shamiko, gives Shamiko demonic powers and tasks her with defeating and drawing blood from the Magical girl. But well you see, Shamiko is a big softie and ends up making friends with Momo (The Magical Girl).
She doesn't realise that they are friends and thus constantly proclaims how she will defeat her!
Near the end of the show we are faced with actual build up to a plot, though we'd have to see that in Season 2 which, at the time of writing this review, hasn't been announced and probably never will be announced, sadly.

[CHARACTERS:]()
The main cast consists of:
Yuuko Yoshida - Otherwise known as Shamiko, she is tasked with defeating a local magical girl. Shamiko is Determined to defeat her...even if Shamiko isn't the fighter type and is actually the biggest softie one can meet. Honestly she made the whole watching experience so fun, especially her interactions with Momo (The magical girl).
Momo Chiyoda - The magical girl which has to face agaisnt Shamiko...kinda, its less of a face off and more of a experience. Momo is calm and composed, she never gets her emotions best of her. It is very obvious she has taken Shamiko as a friend and wants to somewhat help. Shamiko's and Momo's personalities are such a clash and I love it.
Lilith - The ancestor of Yuuko, she wants Shamiko to defeat the magical girl and get her blood as to regain her true power because now she is kinda a statue. She does end up unveiling some story plots but mostly shouts at Shamiko for being a failure.
Thats the main cast. Near the end of the show we can see the mother being much bigger part of the story as she holds all the secrets to the whole thing. But for most of the show she pretends to be oblivious to all of this and just does her usual chores.

[ART/ANIMATION:]()
The animation in Machikado Mazoku is good, not anything spectacular but its better than the usual SOL stuff we see.
I love the use of bright colours in the show, so eye catching.
[MUSIC:]()
My goodness the OP and ED of this show are so god damn catchy, I've been constantly listening to it. I cannot believe just how good they are. It's too damn cute, I love 'em so much!

[OVERALL OPINION:]()
Machikado Mazoku is the show which I picked as a seasonal because I thought it was gonna be just another generic SOL. But oh boy was I wrong, this show is amazing, honestly.
Many SOL and CGDCT shows struggle with being good due to the reason that despite their concept of the plot being good they don't have likable characters, I don't care about some astrology club hoping to find an asteroid if the characters are just cardboard cut out (totally not calling any show out), Machikado Mazoku has those likable characters so even despite the plot being just a spin on the magical girl idea it still feels fresh and fun because you are really only there for the characters.
