You know how you countlessly search and browse through anime selections and just hope or pray that you'd strike gold and find something great? This is how I first found Erin.

The anime was not as I had expected. As soon as I started the series I was immediately hooked and fell in love!
This is the first anime I have seen where both the main character and the plot are so well written and put together. From start until the final episode, you feel the substance of a complete storyline where nothing was left out or cut short. While most series nowadays indulge on the popular genres, they often hasten the ending and leave the audience with many questions unanswered.

For Erin, however, within the span of 50 episodes, the main character is first introduced as a child and grows until she becomes an adult and later on as a mother. Her personality and traits come through so well in her upbringing that you bear witness to her growth, her insight, her outlook on the world, and how she maintains her own individuality despite of the struggles and conflicts that she encounters.

In addition, as the story evolves the series also doesn't neglect to focus on the setting, the conflict, the love interest, and the supporting characters around her. If you have seen Yona of the Dawn, Moribito, or Ronya the Robber's Daughter, it has the same feel or vibe as a combination of the three. Its a mix of the three series where the action, drama, suspense and romance are intertwined so beautifully as you root for the main character.
And of course what I love most is Erin's strong character. She reminds me so well of Nausicaä (of the Valley of the Wind). Again, really an awesome female lead/hero! :)
Overall, I'm sure you'll enjoy the series as much as I did. Its a wonderful anime that speaks well of the heart and deserves great reviews!
Its a gem that I was so lucky to find and definitely worth watch again!
