An explosion. I watch it over and over, never feeling bored or unhappy; it's truly a masterpiece. The opening is lit AF, and I love both the opening and the episodes themselves. It's a joy to rewatch every time, and I believe everyone should experience it. The character design is fantastic, and the storyline is captivating. I never regret rewatching it or recommending it to others because it's such a delightful series. Maids are incredibly popular in Japan, and the anime portrays them brilliantly. The maids from Café Latte are some of the best I've ever seen.
Although this appears to be a typical rom/com, it was actually rather fun and featured a few unique elements. Instead of the male protagonist having to protect the female protagonist, Misaki is able to hold her own in most situations, and Usui will come and talk to her about it. The comedy in this narrative was actually rather entertaining, whether it was Usui joking with Misaki about stalking her, Misaki always being overly serious, and so on. I really appreciate this anime; the romance that develops over the plot is incredibly sweet, but it can become a little sad/wobbly at points. So now for the reviews.
Story 8/10
Although the tale seemed to be a cliche, the manner in which it was handled was quite nice. The romance gradually develops as they go about their daily lives, with plenty of comic relief.
Art 8/10
The art in this anime was also rather good, whether it was a serious situation or drawing a person who had just been tossed out of a window.
Sound 8/10
The sound in the animation was fairly good, and the Japanese voice acting complemented the characters really well. However, the English dub I attempted to watch sounded terrible, the microphones were extremely hot, and the characters did not match up at all. The sound for the English dub was terrible; I'm not sure if it was the mics or what, so I stuck with the subbed version.
Character 8/10
The characters in this anime were quite well developed; there was always something happening with a supporting character rather than focusing just on the main protagonists.
Enjoyment 9/10
I truly adore this anime; whether it's a comedy or a romance, it always catches my interest. The combination of comedy and romance worked well for the characters. Not to mention how Usui and Misaki are continually in conflict, and then there's a romance scene with some comedic elements. Also, given that Misaki is a tsundere, it was interesting to watch how her emotions played out and how Usui supported her.
Overall, I felt this to be an excellent anime. Although there are some cliché situations, this is to be anticipated from a romantic comedy in most cases. I still thought this to be an amusing and wonderful plot, which drew me in. I definitely recommend this anime to anyone who like a good romantic comedy.
