I don't even know how to explain this ... I'll just say that Hyouka is art. Yes, it is art, and if you think that I do not invite you to see all the anime and do not drop it. If you still don't like it, I will understand that this is not for you and that is it. Now, why did I tell you not to quit the anime and complete it? (if you haven't already) basically because I wanted to drop it too. It bored me a lot, the characters seemed generic to me and it didn't even have a plot. I did not understand how this anime could become so famous, I kept watching it out of curiosity, forgive the redundancy, after all to see this anime you have to be very curious. As I went through the chapters I realized that there were good chapters with good mysteries, I began to love Oreki for her intellect, her carefreeness, her asocial personality, among other things. Chitanda was a character that complemented Oreki, being the opposite and although these moe characters are not usually to my liking, I liked her. She is a refreshing character to the moe characters. I liked that Satoshi was so outgoing and cheerful with his friends; and I loved Mayaka's personality, although I personally fell in love with her, she is beautiful. Yes, I know, I know that I am not mentioning anything about the technical section, or its visual and musical quality (soundtrack), but I think that is already very obvious and is excellent, I have nothing to say more than that. I want to focus on the plot of the chapters. There are mysteries that are solved in one chapter as there are others that are solved in three, the good thing is that, in both cases, it keeps you hooked and puts your mind to work, you really have to have a high degree of concentration when it comes to seeing this show, because if you don't you will miss everything. By the second half of the show I already loved the characters and even so they got me more development, is that God, they are so well written! I could say that they all have human qualities, they all look like real people. It will hurt to say this and leave out the main couple (especially Oreki) but Mayaka and Satoshi have more human characteristics and more development, and I not only talk about them as a couple or friends, I also talk about their personal problems, their flaws, their history . Honestly, I couldn't hate any of them, these characters were already like friends to me. Besides the fact that we all have flaws, no one is saved from them. I don't know what else to mention besides what has already been said ... I must add that I really liked that all anime is absolutely like Sherlock Holmes, it's beautiful, I think I love this genre more than before. It is the first time that I connect so much with the characters of a mystery and detective play. That doesn't mean that I have consumed bad shows, all I'm saying is that Hyouka is amazing. Slice of life is one of my favorite genres, so I loved this mix of slice of life with mystery. An institute with everyday things, which can be ignored, but in reality they decide to give it importance and everything becomes a case to be solved. This anime focuses on that curiosity for small and, sometimes, big things that we mostly decided to ignore, Hyouka taught me to be more curious, it really changed me. I don't know how it happened, but I can't stop thinking about it.
I liked the ending, that is, I never expected romance in this work (maybe a little at the beginning), it seems to me that the anime is about the development of the characters and obviously the protagonist and that was achieved. The Oreki from the first chapter is not the same as the one from the last. Maybe, if the ending disappointed you, it's because you expected something romantic, but Hyuoka was never about that, it's a story about adolescence, about high school, about personal growth, and obviously about curiosity.
Conclusion This is not a romantic anime. Do you have romance? Yes, but that is not enough to qualify it in that genre. It's a mystery anime, so if you like this genre, you will almost certainly love Hyouka. It is art, no matter what quality you focus on more, you will only find a job well done. So, do you love it or hate it?
