Well, first off, welcome to Misunderstandings: The Anime!
Ok, well, besides that, I hope to make this an actually serious review, so I'll get started.
First off, As I said, this anime is full of misunderstandings romance wise, the whole anime is just a clump of people reading the situation wrong, and that makes me kind of upset, because I thought this anime had great potential because it seems that it tries to reach out to a big group of people, like gamers for example, but it was barely about gaming in the first place, they used it as a set-up, not as a base-line, which I think would have been a benefit to the anime.
Second, the romance in it disappointed me, I felt no connection between Karen and Keita, and I felt they could have done something with that by having them bond? Maybe actually having a meaningful moment? But no, they kinda kept it boring in a way by making nothing happen; and then, with all the misunderstandings, they kept piling up and up and up until I couldn't take it anymore, I actually took a week off from watching because it annoyed me so much, it could have been solved with ONE conversation, and they had so many chances to do so, but they just DIDN'T! I felt like I could scream at the scream it got me so angry...
Third, the ending was terrible in my opinion, nothing meaningful happened, he fell in a grate, WOW, amazing, again, a disappointment.
Fourth, I actually wanted Chiaki to be with Keita, they actually had something interesting to bond over but no, Chiaki's secret identity is never revealed, they never talk about it seriously, just a bunch of meaningless crap that took me out of the show.
Fifth, the last episode? I'm not even gonna talk about it into detail, it's just a bunch of random stuff, you could say, it's a DLC, nothing interesting, just added nonsense...
Sixth, what was with Tasuku and Aguri? It was like a endless string of misunderstandings that never actually went into anything, and they never talk about it, and then at the end (I assume, I didn't really get much out of the ending) they make up? I don't know, seems kind of lazy not adding an actual conclusion to that.
Seventh, why was Karen into Keita in the first place? Okay, you might say, "Love just happens, you can't help who you love..." But Keita has like, nothing good about him, he's naive, not extremely attractive, and average, I mean, you could've added SOMETHING of substance to Keita except "Uhhh, he likes games." What's with that? It makes no sense.
So, in summary, I didn't like it, (surprise?) although it had potential, and as much as I dumped on it, I think that maybe a season 2 would help? Maybe have Chiaki reveal themselves? I don't know, but add something to the relationship between Keita and Karen, make it interesting, add something for them to bond over, something like that.
