I do enjoy Romance anime a lot, that is why I will give any decent enough looking show of that genre a chance. To be honest I was not expecting all that much from "Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!" since it did give off a rather generic vibe so I kept my expectations low from the very beginning. But let's get into that later, first I just want to talk about the plot (if you can even call it that), animation, OST/music etc.
Story/Plot:
The story follows two college students Hana Uzaki and Shinichi Sakurai in their daily activities. At the start we find out that the male lead is an introvert and prefers to spend his time alone in peace and quiet. When he meets his underclassmen from High School this changes quickly. Uzaki wants to get involved in his life and force him to spend his time more meaningfully. So the two end up going on different kinds of trips, eat out in restaurants and indulge in other activities while slowly getting closer to each other. But that's pretty much all there is in terms of plot. Most of the time it's just banter between those two and we get to see the different dynamics of their personalities. Sometimes funny and sometimes creating sexual tension between the "main couple". Similarly to other RomComs tho there is never any progress in their relationship and the story has a very episodic-formula, meaning you could probably start watching at a random episodes and it wouldn't make much of a difference.
Characters:
I have already talked about the characters a bit but there a few more things I want to add. Let's discuss the female lead first. To be frank I have to agree with some other people that she can be really annoying at times (how she teases her senpai, screaming a lot and other things) but she did push the plot forward somewhat so I will have to give her credit for that. Nonetheless there was not much else positive to be said about her character, if anything she was too pushy at times and inconsiderate of other people's feelings. Especially towards the male lead she would force him to do things or bring him to places when he just wanted to be by himself. It is pretty obvious that Sakurai is more of an introvert while Uzaki is an extrovert. And because she thought he was "wasting his time or youth" she felt the need hang out with him and do things that in her opinion a "normal" college student should be doing.
I can see where she is coming from but in my opinion that just sends a really wrong message saying that you are not allowed to enjoy time by yourself and you should be more extroverted. As an introvert myself this just rubbed me the wrong way since I could relate with Sakurai and understand his point of view. Some people just prefer to spend time alone because talking to other people can be really draining.
Sakurai himself as already mentioned is rather the opposite of Uzaki and prefers spending time alone. There isn't really all that much to his character like a backstory or anything of the like. The other characters in this anime don't really stand out either there are mostly just there to be funny or interfere with our main couple.
Animation:
Nothing much to say here. The animation is as generic as it can be. It gets the job done and portrays the characters, background and other things decently enough.
Music:
I barely noticed any soundtracks as they were very unmemorable. What was said about animation goes for the music as well: generic.
Summary:
All things considered I do have to admit that I somewhat enjoyed the anime. It's a light-hearted romcom that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you are in the mood to watch something like that go ahead but to be completely honest you aren't missing out on anything if you just skip this. There are tons of Romance anime with a similar concept with better animation, story, soundtrack, characters etc.
Some better alternatives are: Tsurezure Children (TV-short about 4 different couples set in High School), Toradora! (clashing personalities but with actual story progression) or Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (RomCom about working adults that are also otakus).
