Synopsis:
Yukihira Souma works with his dad at the family restaurant, that's all Souma wants. He puts all his passion in the family restaurant but one day his father has to close it because he leaves Japan and helps out a old friend in America. His father then convinces him to sign up for a elite culinary school the graduation rate is very low and it's a really famous culinary school all over Japan. So Yukihira Souma decides to face the task his father left him and thinks that this is going to be a easy one, but soon he finds out that this school and its students aren't that easy to beaten.
Plot:
The Anime mainly shows the protagonists story, everything you see has a connection to Yukihira this isn't bad it's actually pretty interesting but in some points I really wished to see something else, anyway he fights his own way through the elite school and faces tasks you may think is impossible to solve, but not for him. It's like a sport show but only with food, they compete against each others with their best skills and knowledge. In the first half of the anime Souma has no problems against his competitors he has no big problems but in the end of the anime it gets intense the competitors give their best and that's the point Souma knows that there a few guys he can't compete right know, but in the near future. This happened at the end of Season 1 I'm sure that Season 2 will not be so easy for him, I hope that. The whole anime is decorated with comedy and amazing dishes. I don't lie when I say that I starved watching this delicious anime!
Characters:
I love all characters especially because everyone is so individual, at the beginning i had problems remembering the names of the characters because there were many, but at the end the set gets smaller. I really like the characters in Soumas hostel, they are like a small family and it's very heartwarming seeing them together. In the end of the anime you'll know the most important ones, and the main part I think happens in Season 2 of Shokugeki no Souma in Season 1 you'll get many information about the characters for example what are their specialty and hows their connection.
Animation & Music
Music, this is the only point i missed. There is music and good music too but the point is you can't really concentrate on the music because your eyes fell in love with the animation and that is the only thing you want to see. I really liked the opening and ending and watched it every episode. The music in the opening and ending is really good and that's it, I haven't heard anything better in the anime or maybe I was just distracted. Now the most positive thing I like is the
animation..
It's amazing they really made a anime worth watching, the details of the food I was just shocked how good it is I really have no words for this. They have put a lot of work in the little things which came out big.
All in all, a good anime worth watching, your eyes will love it but I'm not sure if your stomach will...I hope you guys liked this review and I hope I could convince you watching this masterpiece. Shokugeki no Souma taught me many things about food and cooking! I really liked the scenes after they ate something delicious especially Soumas experimentation with squid tentacles. Watch it!
