After working as an assistant to Kazuhiko Shimamoto, he was selected for the Kodansha Newcomer's Manga Award for "Nakajima ga oyogu! which was selected for the Kodansha Newcomer Manga Award (published in 1994 issue #32).
He became the model for "Yamashita" who appears in Shimamoto's manga works "Gyakkayou Nine" and "Wonder Bit".
