He pays for a rental girlfriend out of pride and ends up matched with Chizuru Mizuhara — beautiful, professional, ranked five stars on the rental app, and three blocks away from the building Kazuya's grandmother is dying in. Kazuya panics and introduces Chizuru as the real thing. The lie holds. The grandmothers exchange numbers. The girls live in the same apartment building. The show is the spiral that produces, and the comically awkward attachment Kazuya develops to a contract he can no longer afford to end.
