Will continues at the magic academy as the only student in his year who fights with a sword instead of a wand. The second season opens on a multi-school praxis dungeon, where Will and the other top students of his class are ambushed by a masked mage who shouldn't be in the dungeon at all. The survivors limp out into the exit exam Will has been training for all year — the qualifier for the Magia Vander, the kingdom's elite mage corps and the only group Elfaria's tower is open to. The season is the qualifier run and the politics around who is allowed to take it.
