__THE INTRODUCTION
__
Before I start I'd like to say this is my first review on this site so forgive me if I do go on and on
For starters let me just say that Wolf Children isn't typically the type of anime I like to watch although I have watched something similar like Barakamon I usually stay away from sad anime I feel like it makes me fragile or feel weak and exposed to cry....but this movie has taught me otherwise that crying is a human necessity and that while its important to smile and stay strong at times crying provides the necessary emotional catharsis so don''t be afraid and cry those salty tears!

__The Story
__
now on to the review. To start the premise of the anime is a college woman meets a man that is also somehow part wolf and they fall in love and have children
the story isn't complex but thats its golden strength is relies on pure emotional storytelling its a film that makes you feel throughout its watch and I liked the pacing throughout the film a lot it goes in such a heartfelt way that makes you grow so attached to this family as this go through hurdles and hardships and in a lot of ways this story really connected home for me but due to the nature of this movie being a story about family and hardships as well as emotional drama I sense everyone can relate and attach themselves with this story in some way
everyone has a mother a father or maybe you have a sibling a crush
and while I don't think every character relationship and story within the anime will be as gripping as others I do think you can find your own personal favorite relationship or dynamic to relate or feel throughout the film with emotional interest
With that being said despite some of the character arcs or relationships in the film being somewhat not as important or maybe interesting to others thats merely my point of view and I could see multiple people thinking similarly and differently depending on that type of person
__The Characters
__
I loved every character in this anime from main to side characters theirs not a single unlikable character from the warm and hardworking mother Hana to the old and stubborn Nirasaki to the shy and meek son Ame for most of the first half of the anime its more focused on the hardworking mother Hana who finds herself strained raising her half wolf children but as the second half comes in it gradually and smoothly switches to the children's development and growth in a sincere and mature manner that becomes the focal point of the film and serves to highlight the relationship between the children and their mother
especially focusing on the the idiosyncrasies of each child shifting between their two natural identities of Wolf and Human both deciding and coming into conflict with each other due to the different identities they've both chosen for themselves to live as
and their mother trying to deal with these problems despite being unfamiliar to parenting of normal children let alone dealing Wolf Children as she continually comes across unexpected challenges that causes seeds of anxiety and unsureness that is intensely gripping to watch.
Overall this Anime was a beautiful and enjoyable experience that opened a new avenue for anime that I can watch
