This review doesn't contain any specific spoilers in that it only goes over broader aspects like how they handled vampirism
Pretty good characters, though I wish there were more humans to add more dynamic or spice... The main character actually feels pretty random earlier on, but the arc where he (and the rest of the humans) get developed later on is probably my favorite part.
Please try to ignore how the main character always looks totally depressed though... (<- it's not even in his character! They just gave him little to no facial motion!)
The rules of the vampire aspect feel overbearing at best and like plot contrivances at worse; whenever they introduced a new one I'd just go, "Oh brother, here we go again..." I like the vampires, but I think the developments they make outside of the basic concept tend to dehumanize them with restrictions...
The story is at its weakest when it's going down a list of chores -- which so happens to be most of the overarching plots... I liked the character moments within of course, but the sense of adventure isn't really there.
It's a miracle I was capable of reading this considering how perverted/filthy/degenerative it is sometimes... If it's not sexual harassment, then it's shots of characters clearly attempting to appeal to certain applications of lust. I will not be watching the anime for this reason, specifically because I need the ability to get past these kinds of shots in an instant
Honestly I don't get why they would made the characters so young considering the type of story it is; the age of the characters hardly affects anything besides how scrawny they want the main character to look... I mean, hell, even school doesn't matter considering they showcase an age-agnostic school later on.
Actually, maybe age shouldn't have even been introduced as a construct, considering how the vampires remain the exact same (and sometimes immature) for decades...
I should note my disgust for the degeneracy and the mistreatment of age are separate gripes -- they're both morally disturbing, irrespective of the other. (I'm saying I wouldn't be OK with adult obscenity...)
The ending is the result of several plot holes and stupid decisions -- it didn't even give a farewell to the rest of the characters!!
Would I recommend it? Can't say! If I knew there was immortality in it I would've tried it no matter what anyone said, even though (as previously mentioned) age -- and thus, immortality, -- are irrelevant in the story...
