I mainly watch slice of life, comedy and adventure stuff, however I'm not opposed to watching action, dramas or romcoms. Not really into horror.
I occasionally write longer, essay reviews of shows I want to talk about. If you have feedback for my writing it's very welcome, as the main reason I make reviews is to improve as a writer.
I score in increments of .25 (I know 5 rounds up but I round down for scoring). This helps me differentiate between a soft/strong score while avoiding being pedantic with miniscule scoring differences of .1, for example.
My Scoring Scale:
10: I can't think of anything I would change about these shows.
9.0 - 9.7: A series that I would not hesitate to recommend. Overall outstanding, and either had a message that resonated strongly with me or was just outrageously funny.
8.5 - 8.7: Has a lot going for it in spite of noticeable flaws. I like these shows, and I'll recommend them if the person I'm talking to is into other shows like it.
7.7 - 8.2: Typically have some number of flaws that hold the show back. Occasionally just unrealized/squandered potential. Shows here will have some good moments and I'd consider them above average, but I don't think anything here is all that special.
7.5: Eh. This is the cutoff for what I would consider "average".
6.7 - 7.2: Sub-par. Some enjoyment can be derived, but overall not a particularly good show.
6 - 6.5: Barely acceptable. Would not consider recommending.
Sub 6: A failing grade. Genuinely a struggle to get through, and if I were a more reasonable person I would have dropped it. Some shows in this range are just incredibly boring, but others are just incredibly frustrating to watch.
