Konbakuwa!! I'm Saww_Duss I started watching anime a few years ago, but I watched the English dub for Pokémon when I was little if that counts for anything.
I'll generally watch anything so long as it's entertaining. I like everything from romance to horror to isekai and everything in between. Only thing I'm a little hesitant about watching are super long anime like the big three since I just don't have the time for it, but I'll absolutely set aside time for them someday. Bleach looks exceptionally interesting. Anyways, I'll tell you some of my favorite anime from different genres, and then how I rate anime.
For Romance I like anime like Insomniacs After School and Can A Boy-Girl Relationship Survive that have very strong characters with flaws and dreams that generally feel like they could be real people.
For Slice Of Life/Comedy I like anime like Azumanga Daioh that are completely absurd and goofy, or super loud and over the top humor like Grand Blue (which I'm currently in the middle of). An honorable mention would be Onimai: I'm now your sister with it's fun and loving characters.
For Action/Shonen I like anime with interesting power systems and interesting motivations like JoJo's Bizarre Adventures, or Fire Force.
For Futuristic/Dystopian stuff I tend to like seeing interesting new technology and people fighting against corrupt systems like in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, or Psycho-Pass.
I could go on and one, but you get it by now. Finally, I will say that I like anime that makes me THINK. I love to sit down and analyze the themes of a story and write about them. Anime like My Hero Academia have a lot about hero morality and law, and I think it's very interesting to ask yourself if villains are heroes are really that different from each other.
For me to enjoy an anime I'd like to see a story with meaning behind it, unless it's like a comedy anime, which in that case it doesn't need a ton of deep story so long as it's consistently funny, although I've watched anime like Aharen-san Wa Hakarenai that can mix topics of growing up with comedy quite well. Asides from story, I want good characters. This doesn't always mean I want to see the next Guts from Berserk, or some other depressing "wounded warrior" type character. I just want to see a character with a fun personality, especially in a comedy, and a depressing one in a more serious anime. With that being said, stuff like soundtrack and animation don't really matter that much to me, but if it's just blatantly horrible then I have to put my foot down.
I give most anime I enjoy an 8-10, one's I think were fine but not so great a 6-7, and ones I think were average or absolutely horrible a 1-5. I'm not one of those fuck-shits who rate everything a 1 like I've seen on MAL. I also try to engage with Seasonal Anime a lot, but I also have anime I haven't seen from the past I'd like to get to.
I also have a google doc where I write down important stuff about themes in certain anime, and I use that to write a review if I do. I also have some spreadsheets I use to keep track of what I've seen, where I've seen it, and when I've seen it. Just because I'm a huge archival nerd. Ask me if you want to see them sometime.
Anyways onto my interest:
Of course I am a weeb
I'm a metalhead, but I also dabble into nightcore, hardstyle, jumpstyle, and breakcore.
I'm a Vtuber Enjoyer, mostly Hololive EN. (I am a holobro)
I read sometimes, my favorite books are: The Catcher In The Rye, Brave New World, and I've been on and off about reading the masterpiece that is Catch-22.
