i’ll read anything with good characters,
but my comfort food is shoujo manga
i hate tearjerkers and cheap tragedy.
if i want to have a crying fit, i can just go read the news

I think that the way we interact with media is somewhat
similar to falling in love. You can't really justify why you love
a certain person by splitting them into characteristics such as
looks, skills, personality, etc, and then averaging that
score as your level of "love" for them.
People connect to each other in weird ways, and since
I believe media to be pieces of their creators' souls,
I think it's the same with media.
Basically, it either clicks or it doesn't, you either love it or you don't.
That being said, there may be some objective reasons
why a piece of media clicks with you.
But that connection that you feel is more
than the sum of those objective reasons, you know?
The way I try to convert my irrational impressions
of animanga into ratings is as follows:
10-8.5 would be something that I love even if it has flaws,
with 10 being things that clicked with me the most
8.5-7 would be something that I think is good
but it has too many flaws for me to love it
Anything below 7 is something that I would usually drop,
something that didn't click at all or a guilty pleasure of some sort
