Hi, I'm a fan of various anime and manga and started watching anime in 2022. I like to buy manga physically and continue to fill my bookshelves. I try to watch and read a variety of every genre and demographic, but I'm especially drawn to sci-fi, drama, and action. I'm a believer that an anime needs both great art direction and animation regardless of how strong its narrative elements are.
I love older anime and cel animation, and I'm particularly fond of the ability on display from many 80s and 90s OVAs. I prefer to watch them on my CRT TV.
I never drop anime or manga. If I ever do, I'll remove this line from my profile and replace it with one saying that I'm a loser. I will watch anything if I have to for an AWC challenge.
My profile picture is Xellos from Slayers.
I almost never rate anime that are shorter than 25 minutes, and I do not rate unaired episodes (this excludes separate OVA projects related to a show). Doing so skews my mean scores for everything since I very rarely rate them above a 5. I do not rate music videos.
I almost never rate manga that are shorter than about one volume in length. This can be subjective depending on the type of work.
I try to limit my favorites to around 25 for anime and manga and around 30 for characters, though that is not an absolute rule. These numbers will increase as I watch and read more.
