Kotonoha no Niwa
Takao Akizuki is a fifteen-year-old shoemaker-in-training who skips first-period English every rainy morning and sketches in a corner of the Shinjuku Gyoen garden instead. One of the mornings he is there, a woman in her late twenties — Yukino Yukino — is there too, drinking a beer at nine in the morning and reading no book. They start sharing the gazebo without speaking, then quietly start sharing the gazebo on purpose. Yukino is on indefinite leave from a job she cannot bring herself to discuss. The film is about the few weeks before the rainy season ends and the gazebo stops being a reason.
the garden of words - movie review (sensuous and soaks you to the bone)
In a single word: elegant. Opinionated review of a masterpiece.
Learning to appreciate a break in daily monotony
"I will stay here Together with you"
The garden of words stuck me by its profound vastness of imagery, and power of love that enriches life monotony.
A nice, simple story about two troubled people finding friendship with one another, though the ending is too sappy.
Beautiful cinemategrophy that tells a short, but beautiful tale with stunning visuals all within 45 or so minutes
A human and relatable take on love
Easily one of Shinkai’s best works, but leaves you wanting more.
A movie with amazing visuals and music, but with a subjectively confusing plot (Warning: Spoilers)
