Asta and Yuno were left at the same church on the same day, and the village pegged them as brothers from then on. Yuno developed magic so fine even adults stop in the street to watch him cast; Asta, in a world where everyone has magic, has none. They are fifteen when their grimoires arrive — Yuno's a textbook prodigy artifact, Asta's a battered black book containing only blade-shaped Anti-Magic, the rarest counter to magic on the continent. They join the Magic Knights chasing the same goal: become Wizard King, the kingdom's highest-ranking sorcerer, before the other gets there first.
