⭐ RATING SYSTEM ⭐ :
100⭐ My favorite anime ever. A show that was completely perfect for me, that impacted my life like no other. I truly love and cherish it, transcending entertainment and being part of my life. This is shows that have genuinely captured my whole heart, and are unmatched in all respects when it comes to my journey within this medium; and honestly, media in general. It's not an exaggeration when I say I think about these artistic triumphs every single day — that's what it means for something to be a true 100/100 in my list, to be absolutely and irrevocably perfect in my eyes.
98+⭐ 100 to 98 is working as my top 3 anime ever. One show for each number (top 1=100, top 2=99...). Additional shows, behind THE favorite, that have a significant impact on my life. I connected incredibly intimately with them, the only differences between these and my 100 being the magnitude of impact they have on my day-to-day mindset, and the fact that they didn't quite match the personal resonance of the anime above them
90+⭐The top of the top, I loved every part of it with hardly any bad things to say about it. They are clearly in competition for the podium and could one day get higher and reach it if my love for them get even higher in my lifetime
80+⭐ Really great and enjoyable shows with a few tiny flaws
70+⭐ Worth watching but nothing super memorable or enjoyable
60+⭐ Not bad, but nothing special (or maybe it was good and just wasn’t for me)
50+⭐ Not worth watching, pretty much just mid
49 or less⭐ More negatives than positives, overall just hardly enjoyable
10 or less⭐ Why did I even start watching this
❗IMPORTANT POINT❗ : I always put only the first season of anime in my ranking, but the note corresponds to the ENTIRE anime and not just season 1. (For example SNK, only the first season is visible at 99, but it means that the entire show have this notation). It allows me to not flood the ranking when there are plenty of seasons and to leave the list airy and readable. Only anime with very distinct and separate seasons will be ranked one by one (Pokemon, Gundam, Jojo...).

I don't rate all that serious, I use it as my own point of reference so I can look through my list and see how much I enjoyed something. The reason I track anime is because I like it of course, but also because it's hard to keep everything I've watched in my head, and use it as a way to know what to recommend to people. It helps jog my memory. And I actually like to create a kind of tierlist/top of everything I saw and ranked by how much I enjoyed it. That mean a 95 for me could TOTALLY be a 70 for someone else because we all have different tastes, expectations, experiences in life, that influences how much we appreciate something !
The 100 to 98 part works like a top 3 of my fav anime ever. Following this, starting from 98, it's just a notation of my enjoyment as I explained it before. Most of my shows are rated 70-100, as I typically enjoy a lot of what I watch, and also because I basically watch the most rated and famous anime I can find first. Instead of going to watch "niche" anime who can sometimes be actually bad. I don't like to drop, but I do it if I need it because my time is limited to watch anime. There are some shows I don't like in my list (from 60 to 0), but most of them are shows I watched a long time ago when I was young, before anilist, and at a time I never dropped anything lol. So if I use the 0-100 system, most of my shows would be 70-100, and the question could be asked "Why do people only use 70-100 on a 0-100 scale" and then be recommended to use the smiley system. It all comes down to personal preference or, more likely, people don't think too hard about it. I like the way the ranking look like with this scale.
I rate based purely on enjoyment, but past 95+, it becomes a matter of how much something resonates within me; its personal impact and its ability to go beyond enjoyment. My overall scale is aggregated into a 9-category system that broadly entails my general feelings and enjoyment associated with a value.

More about my relation with anime :Spoiler, click to view
At the beginning, when I was 5/6 yo, I started to became a big fan of animated movies. At 8/10 yo I read a lot, DBZ, Naruto, One piece, ... when I was 13, I started watching anime by chance by looking at a friend’s anime recommendation, it was a random dumb ecchi but I started wanting to see more different genres and it all started there. I made a long pause in anime during few years from my 17 to 21 maybe because of a lack of time (was just watching One piece weekly and few others).
And finally I started again in 2021 to get back in anime and watch a lot AND created my anilist account.
