gosh where to start. I really like birds, specifically penguins, but all are good and valid. my hobbies include dissociation, day dreaming, and refusing to face reality. I work in education, and the little free time I have is usually spent here. I’ve been watching anime since 2009 but I’m pretty bad about being consistent. in terms of genre, I tend to watch fun, uplifting shows to help distract from life, mainly shounen, shoujo, sports, josei, and slice of life - but I'll pretty much give anything a shot.
my ranking system: Spoiler, click to viewI prefer the 20 point ranking system.
(10) Wouldn’t change a thing.
(9.5) Near flawless, but there was something holding me back from giving it a ten.
(9) Hardcore favorites. Might not be perfect, but I adore them.
(8.5) The beginning of my favorites. These shows left a lasting impression, despite a few flaws. Probably appealed to me on an emotional level.
(8) Might have one or two issues that keep them from reaching their full potential, but still thoroughly enjoyable treats. Not always favorites, but can be.
(7.5) A high quality show/film that for some reason couldn’t breach an eight. Perhaps the concept, characters, or production wasn’t there. It's still something I’d recommend.
(7) Standard “good” show/film. This is where my recommendations officially start. Also, for some reason, this group encompasses most of my favorite comedies.
(6.5) It was almost good. Sometimes these shows/films are still decent enough to recommend, but you’d have to be interested in the concept already and accepting of the various flaws.
(6) A decent show/film. I enjoyed it for whatever reason, but the chances of me ever revisiting are extremely low.
(5.5) A step above average but not quite at that passing level. There is something interesting and earnest there that I can’t hate.
(5) Didn’t do anything particularly right or wrong. Suspended in the limbo of pure mediocrity.
(4.5) The epitome of wasted potential. Usually shows that began with promise, but lost their way.
(4) Boring. Not outright awful, per se, just bland and tasteless.
(3.5) Standard “bad” show with decent production value and some level of competency driving it. There's probably an audience for it, but it is not me.
(3) There was SOMETHING keeping me there (most likely a single character who I really liked or good music). But unquestionably, these shows are bad.
(2.5) Same as a three, but the production sucked.
(2) Boring, ugly, bland and trite, but never annoyed me.
(1.5) Thoroughly terrible, but retains one interesting quality. Usually has the “….what?” factor.
(1) Drab and annoying, with absolutely no redeeming qualities. The epitome of creatively bankrupt.
