Berserk
Guts wears a slab of iron longer than he is tall as a sword, a prosthetic arm with a cannon in it, and a brand on his neck that draws apostles to him every night. He travels the medieval country picking off the demons attracted to his scar, hunted by the God Hand and accompanied by an elf named Puck who he tolerates more than he likes. The manga is long, brutal, and structured around one private question: catching up with the friend who let it happen.
