Hope led me into a downward spiral of disappointment. Junji Ito will NEVER receive a good anime adaptation.

CAT SHIT ONE: THE ANIMATED SERIES

A serious but short gripping war drama.
As the official Junji Ito Maniac™, I'm here to tell you that season 2 of the Collection sucks just like season 1 did.
Clearly just wanted to do a yandere harem manga but instead made this awful and incoherent mess that's full of torture.
Why do a horror romance manga and start doing an action manga partway in? Why? This was a mess.
An incomprehensible psychological drama featuring domestic abuse, murder, and WORSE! Not recommended.
"My life has become a never ending nightmare from which there is no waking." -Yuri Otani, 12 year old alien fighter.
A dazzling smorgasbord of nudity, gore, vomit, and downright insanity. I'll never look at a wasp the same ever again.
A fun and bleak horror manga about a husband and wife's conflict in the woods. Also, a cannibalistic old man shows up.
This series is hardly Junji Ito's best, but it's singlehandedly responsible for me reading all of his other manga.
A wonderfully illustrated dark tale about a girl meeting a talking serpent.
Youichi Abe's fun take on an action series. A boy brutally and gorily slaughters man-eating monsters with a faucet.
Skyscraper battles with uncensored gore (thanks Netflix) and a surplus of fanservice because it's trash. I loved it.
Time to head to the convenience store! Sure hope today isn't the day a zombie apocalypse happ--
Very fun horror comedy 4-koma cat manga. I wish I had a Creepy Cat... especially one of the centipede models.
Very odd horror manga about tiny naked ghost beings that possess people and make them do awful things because it's fun.
I have absolutely nothing more to say on Yami Shibai but I'm going to keep reviewing it anyways.
Very trashy death game manga about following a rule. Ignore this person, or you're probably going to die a gory death.
Time travel horror manga with no likable characters, rules that never get explained, and nothing ever gets resolved.
Muddled horror manga about a carnivorous plant girl that has to share the spotlight with someone else for some reason.
Trash horror high school romance chock full of nothing characters, questionable fanservice, and awful writing.
This wasn't how any of us wanted it to go. Nevertheless, we must struggle onward...
One of the worst yet most entertaining death games I've ever read. Absolutely goddamned insane.
The darkest page in the Berserk 2016/2017 saga. I'm so sorry, Miura.
A haunting Junji Ito adaptation of Osamu Dazai's soul-crushingly bleak final story.
Deliciously pure horror.
"I sure hope the new house we just bought doesn't have any horrible dark secrets..."
Don't know about my bones, but my brain definitely has rotted reading this rotten manga.
"Yami Shibai's getting pretty stale... maybe we should add ninjas?"
How meta of Hideshi Hino. This manga's literally a Panorama of Hell...
Be careful walking the streets at night. I've heard that there's a Hell Baby on the loose...
What should have been Final Destination but with a cow just derails into complete and utter insanity.
"A horror manga titled Children? What could possibly go wrong?"
revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge revenge
A tragic tale of bullying going too far... and the carnage that followed when the victim sought revenge.
An extremely gory fully colored horror manga. Nobody leaves the classroom until we find out who did it.
Fifty four girls jump in front of an oncoming train. This is the story of the one that miraculously survives.
A pretty fun death game manga whe--oh no! My arm has exploded into blood! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
A bottom of the barrel manga that's torn between smut and gore involving giant insects.
A horror manga where characters are trapped in a building and complain about how hot it is.
One of the absolute worst takes on how to solve bullying I've ever witnessed packaged in a horror (?) manga.
The manga equivalent of a child doodling stick figures exploding.
This is a death game manga.
One of the most visually disgusting manga I've ever read.
A splendid series about a blind deaf mute girl doing her best while telepathically conversing with her seeing eye dog.
It must suck for your horror manga to be completely overshadowed by one of the worst anime adaptations of all time.
A masterful episodic journey of a boy traveling the galaxy to obtain immortality by discarding his humanity.
Welcome to chaos. Absolute (and wonderful) chaos.
A movie adaptation of a bottom of the barrel manga that's torn between smut and gore involving giant insects.
A chicken apocalypse manga that proves to be horrific for all the wrong reasons. Reader discretion is advised.
The classic adaptation of the Osamu Tezuka manga stands strong even following half a century.
The modern adaptation of the Osamu Tezuka manga serves as an alternate take more focused on the demon killing action.
Some teachers just want to teach. Others want to be strangled to death by one of their cute female students.
"My slasher character is way cooler than your slasher character! Mine doesn't have any rules! And he can do anything!"
Not having a lot of the awful characteristics of a typical death game results in a much, much better series.
An OVA adaptation of a bottom of the barrel manga that's torn between smut and gore involving giant insects.
The seventh season of Yami Shibai is... another season of Yami Shibai. A bad one, to be specific.
Help! I've fallen in love with a toilet paper roll! And it's NOT anthropomorphic!
Another odd tale by Junji Ito. A group suicide quickly slips off the rails as one of them begins to vomit weird jewels.
Beware the darkness surrounding the spotlight... lest it consumes you whole.
Welcome to the very bottom of the death game genre! Where nothing else remains but gore and rape. Oh, and cannibalism!
Even more spooky faces. Look outside your window because there's probably a ghost. No, really. This isn't a joke.
...Why do I keep doing this to myself?
Everything will end at Fourteen! Chicken George and Kazuo Umezu have prophesied it!
The Vatican Miracle Examiners are on the case! Proving miracle statues fake and that the Satanic Illuminati is real!
The best anime adaptation of Berserk.
A death game with much more emphasis on death than the game. I'm still not even sure if this is a genuine effort.
Apart from perhaps one of the most offensive twists I've ever experienced, this is just another really bad death game.
Really powerful episodic horror series that goes to much darker places than I ever could have predicted.
The Divine Comedy adapted by the creator of Devilman. Unsurprisingly, Go Nagai mostly just wanted to do Inferno.
Delightfully insane horror action series with a razor sharp edge. Just don't read it for the plot.
It might be a sequel that nobody on this planet asked for, but it meshes perfectly.
I have gazed into the abyss, and the abyss has gazed back.
Another important life lesson from Youichi Abe. Always check the urinals to make sure they're not guillotines, lads.
P.A. Works tried their best. However, they were no match for this author's insanity...
A baffling attempt at an episodic series around a character who just eats metal and drinks gasoline.
I wish I could time travel to a time before I watched this and tell myself to stop. I'm so sorry, Yoshitoshi ABe.
Creativity or insanity? Regardless, I don't think real life Galileo Galilei invented mechas...
It's going to be hard to try and take future trash horror series seriously after this. Literally everything's wrong.
A deeply fascinating psychological horror manga that successfully manages to be genuinely horrifying.
Dark, oozing with bleak charm, and chock full of fun psychological horror stuff. One of the best horror anime!
One of the funniest comedy series of 2017... wait, it was supposed to be horror?
Most likely the worst series I will ever review.
Yuasa’s uncensored Devilman adaptation is a blast to watch.
Personally enjoyed the bitter stuff, not so much the sweet…
Vampire smut. There was some fun over the top action scenes but at the end of the day... it's mostly just smut.
Who knew a combination like magical girls and horror could be this boring?
The Junji Ito story celebrating his 30 year anniversary is probably one of my favorites. How many layers do you have?
After the fifth season, I kind of can't believe this actually ended up being okay.
Just boys being boys... and disemboweling teachers.
Ultra short horror is a neat idea in theory, but it's almost entirely just creepy faces. Completely forgettable.
The character that gave a dental technician an over thirty year long career in horror manga.
A fantastic horror one shot by Youichi Abe that teaches us the value of checking your hair everyday for parasites.
The wonderfully colorful series that managed to blow its original source material out of the water.
The absolute worst series about baseball. Gurazeni doesn't even deserve to be called a sports series.
A seemingly foolproof premise with several potentially entertaining paths that instead chooses to go nowhere at all.
Great, quick to the point, and with plenty of horrific violence as two psychics battle each other.
A wondrous parade of absolute lunacy demonstrating the terrifying idea of dreams and reality merging.
Enjoyably gory slasher with an appropriate amount of creepiness. My little sister can't be this horrifically violent!
A heartwarming albeit constantly eerie and sad story about a girl and her cat presented mostly fully-colored.
