I'm Superp, a run-of-the-mill borderline degenerate weeb.
#What I Like I really like a good romance anime, makes sense why my favorite animes include Your Lie in April and Bloom into You. This applies to mangas as well. In fact, most of the mangas and LNs I pick up are romance anime that I watched first and wanted more. It also makes good sense since I’m an emotionally invested person who’s a sucker for a meaningful relationship. Unfortunately, this just means that my PMD and PAD (Post Manga/Anime Depression) hits way harder than most people. Other than that, I'm fine with anything really, no matter how ecchi, bloody, serious, or hilarious. But I have to say some do feel repetitive. I will go out of my way to say that I will only like repetitive genres like Isekais if they're either hilarious or put a unique twist on things. Either that or they're so dang good they exceed normal standards. One of the most important things about me is that I'm a sucker for music and art, so if the anime's got some banger soundtracks or art that looks like it's straight outta a Shinkai work I'll check it out.
##Rating System Let's get something out of the way real quick. I'm really emotion-based so if an anime can make me cry then I automatically give it a 10 on MAL and over 95 here. Yes, it's not a good basis of judgment but I sure as hell don't care if I'm bawling my eyes out. Oh yea, if you look a bit deeper on my profile you'll find my reviews. Why are all of them so positive? Because I only write reviews about the animes I liked. Unless I find the anime bad or noteworthy enough to make a review pointing out their mistakes.Fair notice that I tend to overplay my opinions so when I first rate an anime on my list they tend to be scored pretty high, but eventually, I'll settle them down to a more permanent rating.
Other than that, I think my general grading scheme goes pretty similarly to a classic high school / university letter grades
95+ — Absolute masterpiece of creation, brought tears to my eyes
86—95 Very well made, worth a watch
70—86 It's pretty enjoyable
60—70 The Tolerance Line The most basic of my standards lie here
59- I probably dropped it or something, or it was pretty bad
1-10 The secret rating system, reserved for animes that focused a lot more on ecchi
I promise to keep up with recent animes only if I deem them good enough to invest time in, and usually, that happens a lot. But if an anime is really good I tend to save it to binge in one go later.
#The Waifu Section Waifus? I have a few permanent selections, and new ones keep getting added to that roster, but usually I will just cheer for the best girl(s) of a season and that's about it. Unless it involves the permanent roster, I'm as neutral as Switzerland in the waifu wars.Anime aside, I don't read a lot of mangas/light novels. Unless I've been personally recommended by a friend or youtube, I will usually not touch mangas save for the occasional few where I feel so compelled from its anime adaptation that I will read the entire series in a few nights. It's how I found my current favorite manga Oshi No Ko.
I should mention that I do have a favorite Mangaka, that being Kaguya and Oshi No Ko's Aka Akasaka, dude's too talented for this world.
