Mononoke-hime
Ashitaka is the prince of a dying Emishi village in northern Japan when a god of the forest comes thundering out of the trees twisted by hatred into a demon. He kills the boar, the boar marks his arm with a curse that will eventually kill him, and his village exiles him west to find the source. He finds Iron Town: a frontier fortress built by Lady Eboshi on land cleared from the forest, hated by the wolf clan that raised the human girl San. The film is what Ashitaka — neutral, dying, the only person willing to listen to both sides — tries to do between them.
The most influential piece of art on my life is Princess Mononoke. It's my favorite film out of the thousands I've seen
