Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
At eleven, Arima Kousei was the most decorated child pianist in the country. At thirteen, he watched his mother — also his teacher — die in long, slow pain that he had nothing to do with but could not stop blaming himself for. The next time he sat at a piano in public, he could not hear the notes he was playing. Two years later, Kousei lives in monochrome until a violinist named Miyazono Kaori detonates her way into his quiet life. Her playing breaks every rule he was raised on, and she insists that he accompany her.

A High Note within a Long and Vivid Melody
If you haven't watched this anime, do it. Don't let the music tag scare you. It left me speechless, also crying... HARD
A deceptively beautiful series, and one worth shredding tears for.
A visually poetic masterpiece, exploring trauma, mutual influence, and personal growth, with a bittersweet ending.
Read this quite a while ago, but it was the spark that led me to get addicted to anime— it's my all-time FAVE feel-wise
how wonderful! but sorrowful.
A beautiful, devastating story about love, loss, and finding the courage to live again through music.
Music, love and sadness combine to make an anime that hits nearly all the right notes.
A counter-review to the top review for this show: an exemplary work with great writing that is commonly misunderstood
