Characters — Contribute · WaiforaCharacters
Character entries always live inside an existing or newly-approved anime or manga. There are no standalone character entries on Waifora.
Name
- Native — the character's name in the original script (Japanese, Korean, etc.). This is the canonical field.
- Romanised — phonetic romanisation following the rules in General.
- English — only when an official English release uses one (anime localisation, licensed manga). Don't translate a Japanese name yourself.
- Alternative names — nicknames, titles, aliases, and codename variants that appear in the work. One per line.
Name order follows the source: family name first for Japanese / Korean / Chinese characters, given name first for Western names.
Role
Pick the single role that fits the character within this specific work.
| Role | When to use |
|---|
| Main | Protagonist, deuteragonist — drives the central plot. |
| Supporting | Recurring character with named arcs but not central. |
| Background | Named one-off or brief appearance. |
A character can have different roles across different works — they're filled per media, not globally.
Voice actor
- Linked from the Staff entries.
- One voice actor per language. A character may have separate Japanese and English VAs — both go on the same character, tagged by language.
- No fan-cast voice actors — only credited performers from the official cast list.
Description
- A short biography (a paragraph or two). Stick to in-universe facts plus production notes.
- Mark spoilers explicitly. A character description that reveals a major plot reveal without a spoiler marker will be edited or rejected.
- Don't paste a wiki article in full — link the source instead.

Gender / age / other attributes
- Gender — pick the canonical option, or leave blank when ambiguous in the work.
- Age — only when canonically stated. "Looks teenage" is not enough.
- Birthday, blood type, height, hometown — populate when stated in official material; leave blank when not.
When in doubt, leave a field empty rather than guess — moderators can fill missing canonical attributes from sourced material later.
