Staff
Staff entries cover anyone credited on an anime or manga: directors, writers, music composers, character designers, animation directors, voice actors, manga authors, manga artists, producers, and so on.
Like Characters, staff entries are always attached to at least one approved media credit — there are no orphan staff entries.
Name
- Native — the original script (e.g. Japanese name in kanji + kana). Canonical.
- Romanised — Hepburn for Japanese, Revised Romanisation for Korean, pinyin for Mandarin.
- English — official English credit when one exists (some staff use a Western-style stage name in licensed releases).
- Alternative names — pseudonyms, maiden names, romanisation variants.
Order follows the source: family-given for Japanese / Korean / Chinese names, given-family for Western names. The site formats display order based on locale.
Roles
A single person can hold multiple roles, both within one production and across many works. For each media credit, list the role title as credited on the official source:
- Director, Series Composition, Script, Storyboard, Episode Director.
- Character Design, Animation Director, Chief Animation Director.
- Music, Sound Director, Opening / Ending Theme (specify which).
- Producer, Chief Producer, Animation Producer.
- Original Creator (for adaptations — the manga / novel author).
- For manga: Story vs Art when they're split, or both fields with the same name when one person does both.
- Voice Actor — paired with a specific character (see Characters). Always include the language.
Per-credit detail
For each role on each work:
- Position title as credited.
- Episodes covered (for episodic anime roles like Episode Director — list episodes or leave blank if they covered all).
- Language (for VAs, dub directors, etc.).
Image and bio
See Images for the portrait rules. Bio should be biographical and factual — no fan speculation, no rumours, no personal contact info.
Privacy
Don't submit private information about staff: home addresses, personal phone numbers, family details that aren't part of public credits. Waifora's a credits database, not a fan-investigation site.
